Back in the summer of 2019 we advertised for people to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon on behalf of Energize and we were delighted with the response.

We kept in touch with all our runners through the winter and the floods and all the training was going well. We were just ordering the Energize shirts and goody bags when we started to fear the event would be postponed due to the Covid-19.

Sadly our fears did come true and the race did not go ahead as planned on 29th March 2020.

BUT this did not stop our very resilient, completely inspiring runners.

Laura was keen to get her run done as soon as possible to capitalise on all the training with a run around Telford.

Kat followed up very soon after with her half marathon on outskirts of Shrewsbury.

Lee was next with his Telford to Shrewsbury half which left him 'in a world of pain'

Danielle said she was struggling to run at the moment but still had the strength of character to still get out and walk the 13.1 miles.

Andy has been training between illnesses and is keeping everything crossed that a new date will be announced for later this year.

Sophie ran the half in two stints over consecutive days with support from her son Jack.

But the final words must go to Deborah. She is at home with young children and no one to look after them if she went out to run.

So, what did she do? 250 LAPS OF HER GARDEN! That is an AWESOME achievement Deborah!

We are so proud of you all.

You really are an inspiration.

And thank you to every single donor - all of your money will help us to continue to support communities and groups who need us across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.

THANK YOU.
