Covid-19 Energize Resources Energize your Holidays On 20th July, we are launching 'Energize your Holidays', a chance for Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin children and their families to get involved with FIVE weeks of fun activities. Each week will have a different theme and a list of different activities for you to have a go at... And the good news is, we have prizes on offer too!! All you have to do is email us a photo or a video of you taking part in any of the activities and our team of Energize Judges will award one winner each week with a £10 book voucher. And the overall winner at the end of the five weeks, will be awarded a voucher for a family of five to have an active day out! The winners will be those that are creative, fun, original and inspiring. Entries can be sent at anytime between 20th July and 21st August All video or photo entries can be sent to: [email protected] along with the child / children’s name(s) and whether there is parental consent for the video or photo to be shared on our social media platforms. OR Simply share with us on social media @EnergizeSTW on and use #Energizeyourhols The small print! We will aim to use any content that you give us permission to use but please be aware larger files may be unusable. For this reason, it is good to accompany a video file with a few still photos too and even a few words to describe what is happening. (If the file size is too large to attach to an email please utilise the free data transfer site wetransfer.com) Parent/carers need to ensure they are aware of the nature of the activities and are responsible for ensuring the safety of their child when completing these. This involves, but is not limited to, the equipment used, suitable clothing being worn and suitable surrounding areas. Please be aware of background information when taking videos/photos e.g. personal data, pictures on walls, names of others etc. Energize STW take no responsibility for any personal injury or any damage caused to equipment or property whilst completing the challenges. Week 1 - On your feet Our theme this week is ‘On Your Feet’ – that could be running, jogging, walking, hopping - anything that involves moving your feet! Send us videos or photos of the most creative, imaginative, original, fun or inspiring way you have been ‘on your feet’. If you’re looking for inspiration, why not try some of ideas below... England Athletics: England Athletics and Funetics have created Funetics activity videos. The videos demonstrate parents and children (aged 4-11) taking part in FUN activities based on fundamental core movement skills: running, jumping and throwing. Each mission is designed to help kids unlock their 60 minutes of daily recommended activity. Click here to join the #nikemovecrew. Week 2 - Throw and Go Our theme this week is ‘Throw and Go’! We’re looking for creative ways that you have been throwing anything from balls to frisbees, bean bags to quoits – even socks and toilet rolls! Youth Sport Trust: The Youth Sport Trust have developed a range of 60 second challenges to encourage children to continue their Personal Challenges at home by trying to improve their performance. Try their range of activities and download a challenge tracker to track your performance here. Week 3 - Show us your den! Who doesn’t love a den – a secret hideaway, a cosy space, a hidden home? Dens can be a wonderful way for families to spend time together, so get out your blankets, towels, tarpaulins – anything you can find - and show us your amazing den creations!
