Mel has been involved in archery for many years, and competed internationally for GB since 2002, in which time she has been club, county, national, regional, European and world champion, having  shot numerous world records, and competed in 2 paralympics - winning a bronze medal in Beijing 2008 and a silver in London 2012.

After needing three years out due to injury in 2015, Mel returned to the sport and within 6 months became British Para Archery champion once more. She is now training with the hope to compete in Tokyo in 2020, where she hopes to be adding a gold medal to her collection!
