Sharon has worked for the NHS since 1980 and in her time off and in between family commitments she enjoys a fitness challenge!! She is passionate about the importance of keeping active for physical and mental well being  and does her best to do just that - however is by no means perfect!

"Every year I try to plan at least one fitness challenge and have run various fun runs, half marathons and the London Marathon. In 2011, I was fortunate enough to be part of a team to cycle from      John O' Groats to Lands End and in 2019 I'm off cycling from London to Paris."

In 2016, Sharon was invited to be part of the Atlantic Ladies crew who claimed 3 Guiness world records by rowing 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean in their ocean rowing boat called "Poppy"

"There were so many reasons I could give for not being part of the crew however, it was a case of "if not Me then Who?" and "if not now then when?"

We can spend so much time thinking about reasons why we shouldn't do things and putting them off but this case I stepped out of my comfort zone and went for it! It was an amazing adventure and one I love to share."

What did I get out of the Atlantic Challenge?

"Life is happening right now, be the best version of yourself, celebrate the good days and embrace the challenging days as opportunities to grow, practice appreciating every minute of every day (with friends, family, colleagues or simply being alone) and continue making memories."
