Energize is committed to supporting community organisations and clubs across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.

We aim to help them achieve their goals, react to the local situation, and help them to build and thrive, getting as many people active in the County as possible.

Support & Guidance

London Sport has compiled a list of guidance notes, on returning to play, from sports’ national governing bodies.  

Club Matters provide free, convenient, practical resources to help clubs, develop, grow and become more sustainable and successful.  

Clubmatters has pulled together a suite of tool kits, guides and case studies to support clubs and organisations through coronavirus and back into activityClick here 

As more opportunities to be active resume, new guidance will help providers to enable welcoming, and more accessible environments. Activity Alliance has published Reopening Activity: An inclusive response, in consultation with partners across sport, leisure and disability equality. Click here

Sported offer a free, personalised approach to support clubs and organisation. Sported offer: one to one mentoring programme, funding opportunities, projects and programmes, regional support networks and advice and guidance in order to help clubs and community groups grow and transform the lives of disadvantaged people.  


Sports Structures provide a consultancy service to organisations in the sport and physical activity sector. They also offer training and education in order to give people within the organisations the skills they need to succeed.

Latest Funding


Just to let you know that Sport England’s £1m crowdfunding programme ‘Active Together’ is now live.  You can find out more on programme objectives, criteria and how it works here. 

As part of the programme, Crowdfunder provide advice and support on developing a successful campaign.

A quick way to apply for smaller amounts of funding between £300 and £10,000. Suitable for voluntary or community organisations. In a statement, CEO Dawn Austwick stated all the funding decisions they make for the next six months (up to £300m of National Lottery funding) will be devoted to addressing the current crisis. This is restricted to: 

  • Activities specifically geared to supporting communities through this crisis 
  • Helping organisations overcome any liquidity issues caused by COVID-19.
