Tackling Inequalities Fund 2021

Nationally, there has never been a clearer message about the benefits of being physically active.

Sport England and the National Lottery have tasked us with helping the local sport and physical activity sector to both survive and thrive, during and after this challenging time.

Whilst we are always here to listen to any local groups, Sport England has found that four groups of our population are being affected most by Covid-19 and the isolation periods. They know that the impact on finances, the greater risk to health, the increased likelihood of working in health and social care settings, and the fear of returning to everyday life, all increase the challenges for local people to lead an active lifestyle.

Therefore for this fund, working in partnership with Shropshire Council and Telford & Wrekin Council, we are wishing to hear from local activity providers and organisations who need assistance to keep activating or reaching out to these groups this year.

1. People on lower income

2. Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic groups

3. Disability groups

4. People with Long Term Health Conditions

Sport England funding is intended for community and voluntary organisations. If you are interested in understanding how you can become a suitable community organisation, or have a group in the community that are one of the 4 priority groups that needs supporting and would welcome connecting with local partners, please get in touch.
