Sport England has released the latest Active Lives Adult Survey with data covering the period from November 2019 to November 2020.

The report provides data on numbers of adults in England who are Active, Fairly Active or Inactive on a weekly basis.

Overall, the picture for England as a whole shows a decrease in those who are Active (61.4%) down 1.9% on 12 months before and an increase in those who are Inactive (27.1%) up 2.6% on 12 months before.

However, this does not show the full story. For that you need to look into the data by gender, age, socio-economic group, ethnicity and for those with disabilities or long term health conditions. And whilst on average 61.4% of adults in England are active, it is a lot lower for specific groups within the country...

In Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, the overall figures are as follows, unfortunately the data is not available at a local level to understand the picture for different demographics.
