Primary School Games Wellbeing Week | Supported by Shropshire Homes

We hope to invite you to be part of the Primary School Games Wellbeing Week taking place in the week commencing Monday 21st June. #SchoolGamesWellbeing

The School Games Operational Group has created a fun and engaging week with lots of prizes and awards to be won as well as supporting staff and children with wellbeing resources.

The week will break down into three sections:

  • Active Challenges
  • Emotional Wellbeing
  • Healthy Eating

Those schools which sign up to the Wellbeing Week will receive a digital resource pack in the week commencing Monday 17th May.

This pack will include 3 Active Challenges (to be completed at any time during the week) these will include demonstration videos (from our Idsall and Thomas Adams sixth formers), challenge guides and scorecards. All challenges can be completed by individual classes with each pupil’s score recorded on the scorecards provided. These can then be emailed in to [email protected].

Winners of the Active Challenges will be announced across our @EnergizeSTW social media as well as emailed to all schools.

The pack will also include Healthy Eating and Emotional Wellbeing resources that can be used across the week with lots of arts and crafts, videos and practical lessons that can be shared throughout the school.

Our Sporting Champions are excited to be part of the Wellbeing Week, and schools that sign up will receive Sporting Champion videos from ex Paralympians and Guinness World Record holders!  The videos will focus on positivity, the benefits of being active and the struggles the athletes have overcome during their career. These could be shown to pupils each morning to get them prepared for the day ahead or before participating in any of the activities.

This week will also provide an opportunity for Young Leaders to get involved.

For example, pupils recording class results, tallying up total scores or even setting up stations for each other.

Templates for Young Leaders will be sent in the resource pack.

The school that emails in the highest number of Young Leaders involved across the week will have the chance to win sport equipment vouchers.
