Working with the student council, and understaking a whole school survey, Telford Langley School were able to identify activities to encourage pupils to participate in the wider school and be more active.

Prioritising SEND pupils and students with pastoral needs, they worked with Wrekin Riders to provide an after school BMX club. 12 SEND pupils and 12 additional pupils who don't usually attend extra-curricular clubs, joined the sessions.  The students, who had a varied range of needs and backgrounds, responded really well to their tutor Kieran, with teachers seeing an improvement in behaviour around school.

The club proved so popular, that the school have decided to fund another term's worth of sessions.

"It has been noticeable that students who took part in these sessions have shown an increase in their self-confidence"
