This free interactive resource gives you an introduction to School Swimming and Water Safety with guidance on national curriculum standards and a summary of the core aquatic and safe self-rescue skills that all pupils should achieve.

Lasting an hour, this online resource is available as soon as you are booked on and it can be accessed multiple times.

Support Teacher of School Swimming Training

Aimed at staff who will actively assist in the delivery of school swimming lessons to small groups of similar ability pupils, the Support Teacher of Schools Swimming course will cover:

  • How to identify activities that will positively impact students' learning
  • Health and Safety considerations of organising and delivering a school swimming programme
  • How swimming and water safety can be delivered to meet school swimming outcomes

Costing £40 per person, the course involves 6 hours of online learning which can be completed at your convenience.

    Teacher of School Swimming Training

    For staff who will deliver school swimming lessons, the Teacher of School Swimming course covers:

    • Planning and evaluating a school swimming programme
    • Creating, delivering and evaluating lesson plans in line with the National Curriculum
    • Understanding the technical aspects of the different strokes
